Issue 1- Blue Turtle Physio Monthly Blog
Starting a new chapter always brings a mix of excitement and challenges. This month marked a significant milestone as I opened the doors to my brand new clinic which opened on the 4th May. It has been a whirlwind of activity, learning, and most importantly, healing. I want to take this opportunity to share a roundup of the month, express my gratitude, and reflect on the journey so far. Whether you are a patient, a fellow practitioner, or simply a reader interested in health and wellness, I hope you find this update both inspiring and informative. My monthly blogs will follow this format from now on, I hope you enjoy!

Reflecting on the First Month in the New Clinic
Opening a new clinic is more than just moving equipment and setting up rooms. It’s about creating a space where people feel safe, cared for, and motivated to heal. From the very beginning, my aim has been to create an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and supportive; a place where patients can take a moment to slow down, switch off from the outside world, and focus on themselves.
Every detail has been carefully considered, from the lighting and layout to the little touches that make a space feel comfortable. I wanted the clinic to feel less like a traditional healthcare setting and more like a place where you can arrive, breathe, and feel at ease. The decor is a work in progress still.

Have a seat in the waiting room, help yourself to a coffee, pick up a book, and enjoy a few quiet moments before your appointment. Sometimes the smallest moments of calm can make the biggest difference.
The response from my community has been truly heartwarming. Many patients have shared how much they appreciate the peaceful environment and the personalised care they receive. This feedback continues to motivate me to keep improving, growing, and creating a space where every person feels valued throughout their recovery journey.
Injuries I've Treated This Month
In the first month, I treated a variety of injuries, each with its unique story and recovery path. Here are some examples:
High hamstring tendinopathy:
Several patients presented with ongoing hamstring pain, often affecting running, sport, and everyday movement. Treatment focused on load management, progressive strengthening, manual therapy, and tailored rehabilitation to gradually rebuild strength and confidence.
Lumbar disc herniation and back pain:
Back pain and disc-related symptoms remain common presentations. Using a combination of hands-on treatment, movement strategies, posture advice, and progressive exercise rehabilitation, patients worked towards improving mobility, reducing pain, and returning to normal activities.
Ankle lateral ligament sprains:
Sports and activity-related ankle injuries were a common theme, with rehabilitation focusing on restoring strength, balance, stability, and confidence to prevent recurrence and safely return to exercise.
Pelvic dysfunction related pain:
Some patients required support with pelvic stability, muscular imbalances, and movement patterns contributing to discomfort. Treatment included targeted exercises, education, and strategies to improve control and function.
Migraines, headaches and TMJ-related symptoms:
I also supported patients experiencing headaches, migraines, jaw pain, and tension-related symptoms. Treatment involved addressing contributing factors such as muscle tension, posture, mobility restrictions, and relaxation strategies.
In summary,
Each case reinforced the importance of personalised care and patient education. Healing is not just about treatment but also about empowering individuals to take an active role in their recovery.
Wellness Tip of The Month:
Prioritise sleep!
Sleep is one of the most important parts of recovery, yet it is often overlooked. A good night’s sleep helps your body repair tissues, regulate stress levels, support your immune system, and improve energy levels for the day ahead.
Small changes to your evening routine can make a big difference:
Keep a consistent sleep schedule- Try to go to bed and wake up around the same time each day. A regular routine helps your body’s internal clock recognise when it is time to rest.
Reduce screen time before bed- Phones, tablets, and TVs can keep your brain alert and make it harder to switch off. Aim to reduce screen exposure 30–60 minutes before sleep where possible.
Relax your nervous system- Create a calming transition between your day and bedtime. Gentle stretching, breathing exercises, reading, warm lighting and a warm shower can help your body move into a more relaxed state.
Be mindful of caffeine and alcohol- Caffeine can affect sleep quality even when consumed earlier in the day, while alcohol may make you fall asleep quicker but can disrupt deeper stages of sleep.
Make your bedroom work for you- A cooler, darker, quieter environment can support better sleep. Your mattress and pillow should also support a comfortable position without aggravating aches or stiffness.
A good bedtime routine is not about perfection it’s about creating small habits that allow your body and mind the best chance to recover.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Everyone
Opening a new clinic would not have been possible without the support of many people. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my patients for trusting me with your care. My family and friends, your encouragement and help behind the scenes made this dream a reality. This journey is just beginning, and I look forward to growing alongside all of you.
A Motivational Quote to Start the Month
To keep us all inspired, here is a quote that resonates deeply with this new beginning:
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” – Lao Tzu
This reminds us that every step forward, no matter how small, is valuable. Challenges will come, but persistence and courage will lead to growth and success.
What to Expect Next Month
Looking ahead, I plan to introduce another clinic day. Opening days from July 2026: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays (once a month).
From August my Saturday clinic will include a £10 surcharge on top of the usual treatment fee.
Kira from Blue Rose Healing will be using my beautiful clinic space to run energy healing treatment sessions when I am not there- if you are interested please get in touch.

Lowri, you have set up an amazing environment to become calm and well. Much better than the old 'meeting room' you were in.
It must be so nice for you to have your own space in which you can help people heal.
See you soon.
Hi Lowri, I certainly really enjoyed my first session with you and I can't wait for the next one! I love the setting and the nature that surrounds the clinic, plus the interior is very welcoming and homely. See you soon. 👍
What a lovely update on your progress so far. It is certainly a welcoming and relaxing environment and, of course, the physio sessions are fab too.
