Blue Turtle Physio Monthly Blog: As the Leaves Begin to Fall…
Issue 3
As summer begins to wind down and we start to feel that first hint of autumn in the air, it feels like a lovely time to pause and reflect on another busy month at Blue Turtle.
The last few months have been filled with new faces, familiar faces, exciting ideas and plenty of little moments that have made me feel incredibly grateful for how far Blue Turtle has come already.
And just as the seasons begin to change, so does Blue Turtle. There are some exciting things happening behind the scenes, with a brand-new project starting to take shape , something I’ve been manifesting for a while and can’t wait to share more about it.
So, grab yourself a cuppa, get cosy and let’s take a little look at what’s been happening at Blue Turtle this month…

Reflecting on August
It has been another busy month at Blue Turtle, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful.
One thing I’ve been particularly grateful for is word of mouth. Hearing that someone has recommended me to a friend, family member or colleague really does mean so much. It’s such a lovely feeling knowing that people are happy with their experience here and confident enough to pass my name on to someone else.
And then there’s the weather.
What a summer we’ve had! I think we’ve all been grateful for a cool breeze whenever we could find one and at Blue Turtle, the tower fans have officially become some of the most important pieces of equipment in the clinic!
I did actually order an air conditioning unit…naturally, it will probably arrive sometime around mid-September, just in time for the temperatures to drop and the jumpers to come back out. There's always next summer though!

Clinic Updates:
The idea behind 'The Turtle Nest' is to create a little outdoor events space at the clinic, a welcoming space where people can come together, learn, move, relax and connect.
We’re hoping it will eventually be used for all sorts of wonderful things, including yoga, Pilates, sound baths, educational talks and wellbeing events, as well as classes run by myself. It’s all still very much a work in progress at the moment, with lots happening quietly in the background to get everything ready. We’ve even set up a separate Instagram page for The Turtle Nest so that we can share the journey, upcoming events and everything that’s happening as the space develops.
The hope is to have The Turtle Nest ready to open its doors sometime in September, so watch this space! I’m really excited about adding another little piece to the Blue Turtle community.
Injuries I've Treated This Month
Every patient has their own story, goals and recovery journey. Here are some of the conditions I've been helping people manage this month.
Hip Osteoarthritis
Hip osteoarthritis is a gradual change to the hip joint that can cause pain, stiffness and reduced mobility, often affecting walking, exercise and everyday activities. Treatment focused on maintaining and improving hip mobility, strengthening the surrounding muscles, managing symptoms and helping patients stay as active as possible.
Post-Surgery Scar Tissue & Adhesions
Scar tissue can develop following surgery and, in some cases, can lead to stiffness, reduced movement or discomfort around the surgical area. Treatment focused on appropriate scar and soft tissue techniques, mobility work, exercise and education to help improve movement and function as part of the wider rehabilitation process.
Lateral Meniscus Injury
The lateral meniscus is a piece of cartilage on the outer side of the knee that helps with shock absorption and stability. Injury can cause pain, swelling, stiffness or discomfort with activities such as twisting, squatting and running. Rehabilitation focused on reducing symptoms, restoring knee movement, building strength and gradually returning to normal activities and sport.
Wellness Tip of The Month:
'Nourish Your Body from the Inside Out'
As we move into a new season, September can be a great time to look at the little habits that support our health and wellbeing and one of my favourites is eating to support your body’s natural inflammatory processes.
An anti-inflammatory approach isn't about following a strict diet or cutting out everything you enjoy. It’s about adding more of the good stuff, colourful fruit and vegetables, oily fish, wholegrains, nuts, seeds, beans and healthy fats such as olive oil.
Try to think “more variety, more colour, more whole foods.”
Lifestyle plays an important role too. Regular movement, good-quality sleep, staying hydrated, managing stress and maintaining a healthy weight can all support our overall health and help the body manage inflammation.
“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” — Jim Rohn
Thank You to Everyone
Whether you've booked an appointment, recommended me to family or friends, liked a social media post or simply followed the journey from the beginning it genuinely means the world.
Running a small business is incredibly rewarding, and every bit of support helps it continue to grow.
A Motivational Quote
